Located on U.S. 41 just south of Brooksville just
North of County Line Road and only 2 minutes from the Suncoast
Expressway,
Masaryktown was founded in 1925 by Slovakian immigrants from the
Northeast and named after the first President of Czechoslovakia, Garrique Masaryk.
 Masaryktown was once known as the egg capital of
the world. Many of the old chicken barns and farm houses still
stand. The Czechoslovakian culture is still preserved by the
residents, many of which are descendants of the original founders.
Today, Masaryktown remains a close community.
Even with the cities of Brooksville and Spring Hill being only 5-10
minutes away, Masaryktown maintains a very quiet and peaceful
atmosphere. It is very common to see people riding their
horses on the sides of the streets or up and down the Masaryktown canal.
Many residents of Masaryktown enjoy playing bingo on a weekly basis
at the community center, while the children love to play in the park
that is across the street. The "Masaryk Hotel"
(pictured above) is still standing and is still a landmark; however,
it is now a popular restaurant entitled "Cafe Masaryktown" (Cuban
cuisine). One of the most enjoyable aspects of Masaryktown is
the fact that the citizens receive "the best of both worlds".
After a hard day's work, relax in the silence of the town with the
occasional sound of a horse whinnying. Yet, they also have the
option to hop into their vehicle and go shopping at the new Shopping
Center on Cortez Boulevard or going out to eat at a very wide
variety of Italian, Mexican, Steakhouses, or buffet restaurants.
It is also located a convenient 25 minutes from the beaches.
Masaryktown is expected to flourish with many new
businesses and subdivisions coming in with the widening of US41
(Broad Street). Being within 2 minutes of the Suncoast
Expressway, makes it convenient for the citizens to travel to Tampa.
For this reason, many investors have been purchasing the property in
Masaryktown. The price of Masaryktown land has been steadily
rising.
