The Nature Center at Wilderness Lodge has been designated a Lowry Park Zoo educational outreach location, called "The Outpost." The Outpost will be the location for many one-of-a-kind children's programs, camps and activities.

Wilderness Lake Preserve has a Ranger Station with a Ranger on duty at the main entrance at all times to monitor incoming/outgoing traffic. The custom home villages and maintenance-free villas are gated neighborhoods.

Grocery stores, local restaurants and stores of everyday convenience are located off SR 54 in Land O' Lakes within five miles of the entrance.
